What are the Staff filters used for?

Minimum version: BrightArrow Base 2 v9.2.1

The primary contacts tab has options to control which of the default fields are used such as home_phone, guardianemail, etc. The students tab had similar options and both allowed for the use of contacts instead of those legacy fields. The Staff tab continues this by giving a way to enable/disable some stock fields in the user export. Previously we would add the stock fields and you would need to remove them if you didn't want them included. Now you can simply turn them off and a blank will be sent in it's place so there is no need to go into DEM to change things.

This will only affect stock fields and fields that come with our plugin. As of now there is no way to add your own fields to this.

• BrightArrow User Contacts - Default
• BrightArrow User Contacts -> this is the custom PQ for schools who needed a custom version. Data plugin 9.4 is needed for this to obey these new settings.

Getting to the filter settings

1. Navigate to Settings > BrightArrow Settings
2. Click on Filters. If doing this from District Office then select the filters in the row corresponding to the district or specific school you wish to alter.
3. The filter options will slide in. Click on Staff

What are the options?

Exclude home_phone field in phones: Should the user's home_phone field be included in the export or should a blank be sent in it's place?

• Default: Enabled in Exports -> send the data from the field
• Other Options:
  • Disabled from Exports -> Even though the field is in the export field list a blank will be used instead of the value of the field.

Exclude school_phone field in phones: Should the user's school_phone field be included in the export or should a blank be sent in it's place? This field is not normally added to the export anyways but in the future could be added as a default field. This is here so if it's added in the future as a default your wishes are already set.

Exclude cellphone field in phones: Should the user's cellphone field (a BrightArrow field included with our plugins) be included in the export or should a blank be sent in it's place?

Exclude email_addr field in emails: Should the user's email_addr field be included in the export or should a blank be sent in it's place?

Exclude Email 2 field in emails: Should the user's email2 field (a BrightArrow field included with our plugins) be included in the export or should a blank be sent in it's place?
