Custom Colors and Logos in ParentHub

Adding your organization's logo and colors to ParentHub creates a more seamless and professional look for your school or business. Having an associated logo and theme can help with branding or school pride and make the app experience more comfortable for your contact base. 

Through the BrightArrow interface, the BrightArrow super-admin for your organization can upload your logo to appear at the top of every ParentHub page. Your organization's custom colors can also be applied throughout the app with no limitation on color choice.

Creating a ParentHub Theme

To add your logo and colors to ParentHub, first navigate to the main menu in the BrightView interface. Please note that only "SuperAdmin" will have access to make these changes for your organization.

How to add your colors to ParentHub

1. In the BrightArrow menu, select "Colors & Logos."

2. Use the color picker or enter exact HEX, RGB, or HSL values to select your Primary Color and your Accent Color. 
1. Click within the color selection window to use the color picker to choose colors. 
2. Enter RGB values or use the arrows to cycle through the options of adding HEX values or HSL percentages. 
3. Notice that a window pops up on the right to show you what white text will look like now that your selected color is the background. 
4. Your accent color also shows what it will look like with white text. 

3. Clicking "Apply" will immediately apply your changes within ParentHub.  4. Logging in to ParentHub, you will now see your theme colors. You may need to refresh your app to see the changes. 

How to add your icon / logo to ParentHub

1. Within BrightView, navigate to your Colors & Logos page. 
2. Within the box under the heading "Upload Logo," add your icon. You can drag and drop your file into the box or click inside the box to choose a file on your computer to upload. 

3. Clicking "Apply" will immediately add your logo to ParentHub. 

4. Log into ParentHub to view your logo. You may need to refresh your app to see the changes. 

Changing a ParentHub Theme

If your organization has made a change to its color scheme or developed a new logo, BrightArrow super-admin can easily make those changes at any time.

Making changes to the color scheme

To make changes to the color scheme, follow the above instructions as if you are setting the colors for the first time. Click "Apply" when you are ready to save your changes. Remember that the changes will apply immediately for all of your contacts using the ParentHub app. 

Making changes to the logo

If you need to change your logo, you will need to remove your existing logo before adding a new one. 

1. From the Colors & Logos page, click the "x" that appears in the upper-right corner of the picture of your existing logo to remove it. 

2. Click to upload or drag and drop your new logo file into the square. 

3. Click "Apply" to save your changes. Remember that the changes will apply immediately for all of your contacts using the ParentHub app. 

Help, I need to undo my changes! 

How easily your changes can be undone depends on if you already hit the "Apply" button. 

I haven't applied my changes yet

If you just made changes to your color scheme and/or logo and have not yet "applied" your changes, click the red "Cancel" button at the bottom of the page. Your changes will be un-done and you will be sent back to the BrightArrow Central homepage. If you go back into Colors & Logos you will see that your changes were not applied and your previous theme colors and logo are still there. 

I already applied my changes

Although there is no way to revert to a previous version of your changes, you do have some options that will work as a quick fix if you don't have the finalized logo or colors you need. 

Colors

If you don't know the exact RGB or HEX values of your organization's colors but need to quickly make a change to what you've been using, you may want to use the color picker to select theme colors that are close to what you need. If you use the color picker to select a general color palette, click "Apply" after you've made your selections. The new color palette will immediately be applied for all of your contacts. 

If you don't want to risk having your colors being slightly off, you can use the "Reset to Default" button to revert back to BrightArrow's original theme including the BrightArrow logo and purple color scheme. 

Logos

If your organization needs to remove your logo from the app but doesn't have replacement designed yet, you can click the "x" in the upper-right corner of the logo thumbnail to remove it. Click "Apply" to save your changes. The app will now default to using BrightArrow's logo. 

Resetting to Default

If you need to remove your organization's theme from the app before you have new colors or a logo prepared, you can click the "Reset to Default" button. This will revert ParentHub back to BrightArrow's logo with purple theme colors for all of your contacts, giving you time to go back and add the correct logo and colors to represent your organization.

I set my theme colors and logo, but not all of my contacts see it

In some rare cases, there may be a few contacts who are not seeing your ParentHub Theme even though you've set it up correctly. When this happens it is likely because they have more than one organization or school linked to their ParentHub account. For example, maybe a family has one child in a public school district and another child who attends a private school, both of which use ParentHub Themes. This family will not see either school's theme colors. In this scenario our system will default back to the BrightArrow logo and purple theme colors.
