What is the Emergency Contacts (sync) List?
For Blackbaud Education Management Solutions users the Emergency Contacts (sync) contains data that is synced on a nightly basis from Blackbaud using API calls.
Default Setup
The BrightArrow system looks through the Education Management Solutions database's Emergency Contacts table for contacts that meet certain criteria and for each
Default informational fields
- Contact Name
- Field that determines if the contact is emergency-only or all communications
- Is the contact associated with a student, parent, or staff/faculty member
Default contact points
- One phone
- One Email
What are the criteria?
- Designated to receive all calls
- Designated to receive emergency-only calls
- * If the emergency contacts chooses to receive no messages they will not be loaded
What is the Information-only (linked) List?
This list is a subset list from the Emergency Contacts (sync) list that contains contacts that are NOT marked as emergency-only. You can use this list to send non-emergency messages
What kinds of changes can I make?
- Limit to just contacts associated to students, or parents, or staff/faculty instead of all 3.
- Use the student/parent/staff name instead of the contact's name
- This is easier if that information is simply added to the All Staff (sync), All Students: Parent Info (sync), and/or All Students: Student Info (sync) lists
