Adding Opt-Out Instructions to the end of each automated message

Here are the steps to add opt-out messages to your automated voice calls, text messages, and emails.

Voice Calls

We can automatically append a pre-created message to the end of each of your messages sent.  Typically the message is a short directive like “To prevent receiving future automated calls from ABC Schools, please call 844-636-6543.” Or “To hear this message again press Star.  To prevent receiving future automated calls from ABC Schools, please call 844-636-6543.”

The idea is that you should compose what you want in that message and send either the text to us so we can append the text-speech-version of it, or you can record the message for us to use.  To record the message, we suggest you create a new (empty) list in BrightArrow, record the message into that list, and let us know the name of the list so we can use that recording.

Once we have your recording or text, then we can make some changes at our end to ensure it is appended to the end of each of your voice calls.

Text messages

This is probably the trickiest one because you have to be extremely concise due to the fact that every character in the suffix reduces your 160-character limit.  Most people know that replying with STOP will opt-out, but a short instruction for those who don’t can be added.  If you want to do this, please provide us the exact text (including spacing and punctuation as they also count against the 160).  An example might be: “. STOP to opt out.” Or “ - STOP to opt out” – whatever specific text you decide, let us know and we will add it.

Emails

Because we support HTML emails, you should send us the exact wording and formatting for the email “unsubscribe.”  We’ll add the link to the word unsubscribe in your email.  A simple example we use is:

If you would like to unsubscribe from future automated emails from ABC Schools, please click here: Unsubscribe

If you want to include any other policies in the same email footer, such as your confidentiality policy, we suggest you include it all in the same email footer.

Please send us the exact HTML content that you want us to add to the bottom of the emails and we will add it for you.
