Email Server Whitelisting: Directions for G Suite

Here are the steps to whitelisting the above IP addresses in G Suite:

  1. Add an IP address to your whitelist
    1. Sign in to your Google Admin console. Sign in using an administrator account, not your current account 
    2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Apps G Suite Gmail Advanced settings. Tip: To see Advanced settings, scroll to the bottom of the Gmail page.
    3. On the left, select the top-level organization, typically your domain.
    4. Scroll to the Email whitelist setting in the Spam section. Or, in the search field, enter email whitelist.
    5. Enter the IP address of the sending mail servers you want to whitelist. To add more than one IP address, enter an IP range in CIDR notation or separate each IP address with a comma.Note: Be sure to enter public IP addresses, as private IP addresses are not accepted.
    6. At the bottom of the Gmail Advanced settings page, click Save.
      **It can take up to an hour for any changes to take effect. You can track changes in the Admin console audit log.
  2. Prevent the “This message seems dangerous” and “Be careful with this message” dialogs when sending to your organizationThe following is not documented by Google but has worked with other organizations.
    1. Log in to your Google Admin Console
    2. Navigate to Apps > G Suite > Gmail > Advanced settings.
    3. Under General Settings, select your top-level organization (typically your primary domain) on the left.
    4. Scroll down to the Inbound Gateway setting located under the Spam section. Hover over the setting and click the Edit button. This will open the Inbound gateway screen
    5. Configure the Inbound gateway
      1. Gateway IPs: Add all of the IPs
      2. Message Tagging: Enter text for the Spam Header Tag that is unlikely to be found in a BrightArrow email. This  field is required
        Ex: aslkdjfasdoiurlkjsfe
      3. Select the Disable Gmail spam evaluation on mail from this gateway; only use header value checkbox
      4. Click Save
