How to Create an HTML Email

When we send emails we may want to just send our message without any frills or design. But a lot of emails that we receive have images and style added to them to grab our attention. If you'd like to also add a little design to your messages you can by using the HTML Email feature.

In this video we'll demonstrate how to change from a plain text email to an HTML email to add style to your message.

Steps to creating an HTML Email

  1. Login to BrightArrow
  2. Find the list you want to send your message from and click on the list's name
  3. Click on New Message OR Edit Prior Message depending on if you are starting from scratch or starting from where you left off before.
  4. Check the box for Email at the top to say you are trying to send an email. You may send other message types at the same time, but for HTML Emails the Email box must be checked.
  5. Just above the large message box find the toggles for text email and html email and select HTML Email.
    1. If HTML Email is already selected then click on the Edit HTML Email button at the top of the white area
  6. From the HTML Email screen you can do several things (none are required):
    1. Change the outgoing email subject line
    2. Change the outgoing Email Name to your name, your company, or maybe your department
    3. Change the outgoing Email address
    4. Attach 1 or more files
  7. If you wish to start with a template click on the template button and select from the list. You want to select your template BEFORE adding your message so that your message goes into the template. If you start your message and then add a template later the template will overwrite all of your existing message.
  8. Add your message. Include images, change font size and color, add a table, bold important words/phrases, etc to make your message stand out.
  9. Once you are done designing click OK
  10. Continue with the rest of the message and either save or send when you are ready
