Introducing BrightView

What is BrightView?

BrightView is our brand new, sleek user interface that we just officially released. We are actively adding features and continuing to improve this new interface.

How can I switch to BrightView?

You can open the top left main menu and use the link “Switch to BrightView” and it will ask you if you’d like to keep it for subsequent logins. If you select “yes” then it will stay as BrightView for future logins. If you select “no” then it will revert back to New Look the next time you log in. You can always switch back and forth from BrightView with the menu option “switch back from BrightView.”

How can we report issues if we find them?

When in BrightView you will soon see a new beacon. The normal beacon is yellow/gold and takes you to documentation, the BrightView beacon will allow you to submit information to let us know of issues you have found. This system is separate from our normal ticketing system and will allow us to combine issues found by multiple people into a single task for development to work on.

Pages in BrightView

For the most part the BrightView interface should work in a similar manor to the New Look interface. This should help minimize the need for retraining. However BrightView is a full upgrade of the interface and does include some new features that will not be put into the current interface.

BrightArrow Central

In all iterations before BrightView the default "home" page is the My Lists page. In BrightView the new default location is the dashboard called BrightArrow Central. The dashboard will have more options in later versions but initially it will show a chart of messages sent the past week as well as status of currently running messages and scheduled messages.

My Lists

My lists originally showed all lists you had access to in the Original Look. Then in New Look we introduced folders and lists in separate folders could be expanded or collapsed and personal folders could be created to group lists by how you use them. In BrightView we still have folders but now you will see just 1 at a time. You'll also be able to see more or less detail depending on your personal preference.

  1. Reduce the lists by searching for common attributes displayed on the screen such as part of the name, date, contact count.
  2. Choose Users to View is now it's own button making it easy to find and change as needed
  3. Folders appear as button rather than collapsible regions
    1. Your personal folders show first and have a star in the icon. How we designate a personal folder versus an account folder may change but there will be a visual cue that it's your own folder
    2. Account folders show a more basic icon
  4. Show the data you want
    1. Click on Advanced to view more data
    2. Click on Basic to show less data
  5. List grid
    1. Basic shows only the list name and how many records are in that list
    2. Advanced adds back the status, type, list updated, message sent, message changed columns that were in the New Look

Message screen more closely resembles the app

In an effort to make things more intuitive we've designed the message creation window to work more like how it works in the mobile apps. Before it was an all in one screen while the app was more of a guided step process due to screen size. BrightView also allows for a walk through approach to creating a message to help guide users along.

Reports

Reports are now easier to get to from the home page, BrightArrow Central, by simply clicking on the large button. The main reports page itself looks drastically different as the special reports are now separated from the message sent reports and the interface no longer is stuck with what was done for the Original Look interface. Reports are also much MUCH faster as they are being converted from Crystal Reports, which was a huge resource hog and very slow, to a much quicker method. Each different report type is being redone.

Message Reports (All Messages)
  • Report filters is the same as before but with a cleaner look
  • More details of the message have been added to the top of the report including who sent the message and what types of messages were sent
