How to See Who Has Opted In to Text Messaging

With short code messaging you will now have fewer restrictions on your messages and should have improved reliability with less chance that a service provider (Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc) blocks your message. However, after the initial message gets sent the receiver must opt-in to continue getting text messages. So how do we know what phone numbers have opted-in and which have not responded?

There is a report that will show you who has been invited and if they’ve opted in yet.

  1. Navigate to your Reports page, using either one of the following ways.
    1. From your BrightArrow Central screen, click the "Reports" button.
    2. Click into the Menu from your My Lists page and selecting the second to last option, "Reports."
  2. The reports section opens and there is now a new report available called * Texting Opt Ins *, select that.
  3. In this report you’ll see all the phone numbers that text messages were sent to and their current status.
    1. Not Textable indicates a landline or invalid phone number that cannot receive text messages.
    2. Opt-Out indicates that the contact replied "stop" to intentionally opt-out of receiving future messages.
    3. Opt-In indicates the phone number has positively opted in to receiving future messages.
    4. Invited indicates that an initial text message was sent but the contact has not replied to opt-in or out. These contacts will not receive future text messages until they text "yes" to 79041.
    5. The Response column will show what was received from that phone number to generate the current status. If you do not want to see the responses, use the Category drop-down to select the option to remove the responses from your view.
