My Lists Page

Navigating to the My Lists Page

The My Lists page is where you will go to find your contact list(s) before starting to create nearly any BrightArrow notification. From the BrightArrow Central home screen in BrightView, click the "My Lists" button to access the page. Alternatively, clicking the hamburger menu in the upper left of the screen and choosing "My Lists" will take you to the My Lists page as well.

Viewing Information in My Lists

Nearly all information on the My Lists page has more information you can get by hovering over it. For example, hovering over the list name will show you the list name and the last time it was updated, helping you to determine if the information contained within your list is up to date.

When hovering over a list name in BrightView, you will see multiple icons appear. Clicking the appropriate icon will allow you to easily take an action without needing to navigate elsewhere in BrightView first.

  • Edit List icon (pencil): Brings you to the List Details page where you can make any edits to the list's contents. Note that any changes made to a synced list will be overwritten with the nightly sync.
  • List Settings icon (gear): Brings you to the List Settings page where you can make any changes to the list's settings.
  • Edit Message icon (speech bubble): Brings you to the last message sent from that list so you can edit the message as needed before sending it.
  • Send icon (arrow): Sends the previously created/saved message immediately. Note that with this option you will not have the ability to edit or review the message prior to sending it.
  • Add to Favorite icon (heart): Allows you to add the list to one of your "Favorites" folders.

Clicking the check boxes next to the list name(s) will select the list(s), allowing you to proceed with creating a message to send to multiple lists at once. If you want to create a message to send to only one list, you can click on the list name which will bring you to the List Details page.

Clicking on Information

Clicking on information in the list will take you into that list. The pencil is there for people who like the visual to click on but in reality most anywhere in that row can be clicked to drill into the list. Here is a list of columns and where you will be taken if you click on them:

  • Sent column: List details
  • Message column: Last message, similar to going into List Details and then clicking Edit Prior Message
  • Size column: List details
  • Detail and List Name column: List Details

Why are the numbers in the Contacts column red?

When you see red numbers in the Contacts column, that indicates that not all contacts in your list are selected. A contact must be selected in order to receive a message you send within that list.

In the example below, the HES Students list has only 2 of the 5 total contacts in the list selected. If a message were sent now, only the 2 selected contacts would receive it.

To change the number of contacts that are selected, click into the list then click the corresponding checkboxes to select contacts. Clicking the checkbox next to the column headers will select/deselect all contacts in the list.

List Types

The "Type" column contains different icons to give you a quick visual of what type of list it is. See the article What Do the Values at the End of a List Name Mean? for a breakdown of the various list types.

What do the dates mean?

The sent column and message column both show dates. The sent column shows the date that a message was last sent from this list. The message column shows the date the last time the message in the list was edited. In both cases hovering over them will reveal the full date and time.

Sent column statuses

The sent column has several statuses. Here is what each value in the Sent column means:

--- A message has never been sent from this list and no message is scheduled to go out of this list yet
Date (1/1/18) The date of the last message to be sent from this specific list
Dialing The message is in the process of calling contacts in the list
Pending The message is waiting to send until the appropriate time. Hovering over the word Pending will show you the date/time the message is scheduled to go out* When sending now the Pending status is initially set until the dialing process begins. If you see a pending message for longer than a few seconds and the message isn’t scheduled for the future please call support
Redial Wait This indicates that the first attempt at calling has completed but some were not able to be reached and will be retried in a few minutes. The amount of time between retries and the number of retries is set in the expanded message window when you create your outgoing message.
Starting Indicates the message is beginning to be sent
Stopping Indicates that the message was still being sent (or resent) but a request was issued to cancel the remainder of the work. Commonly this is done by using the “Stop Message Now” option from the drop down at the top of the My Lists page or within the list itself.
