How to Start a BrightChat in ParentHub

For BrightChat subscribers, sending chats through ParentHub is just as easy as it is in the user interface. This article reviews how to start a BrightChat from within the ParentHub app. For help starting a BrightChat from within BrightView (website version), see here

Starting a chat

  1. In your ParentHub account, navigate to the Create & Send tab. 
  2. Tap on the name of the list you want to send a chat to. 
  3. Select the contacts you would like to chat with. You may want to use the "Enable/Disable All" checkbox if you have a long list of contacts. 
    1. Chats will only be sent to contacts who are enabled in the list. 
    2. Remember that any changes to your contact selections will also be applied to your list in the user interface. 
  4. Tap the chat icon. 
  5. Enter the "Topic" and your initial message. Use the "Upload Attachment" option as needed. 
  6. Mark the correct checkbox to designate if replies to the chat should be private or shared with everyone in the group. See here for more details about sending group vs. private chats. 
  7. Tap "Start Chat." Your chat has now been initiated. Your screen will revert back to the list details page. 
    1. A text message and email will be sent to invite recipients to join the chat. 
    2. Recipients must login to the app to participate in the chat.
