Protecting a List
If your list is shared with other users, you may want to make sure that it is protected so that no one can accidentally make changes to it. Through the List Settings, you can add protections to make sure that any changes made are very intentional.
Note that even with these protections turned on, any user can go into the List Settings and remove the protections so that they can make any necessary changes. The protections are intended to stop ACCIDENTAL changes from being made, but the changes can be made with intention if the user goes into the list settings, turns off the protection, then makes the changes they need. Always be sure to turn the protections back on when you're done making the changes you need to so that the list is protected again.
Use the corresponding links below to view full documentation for each option. Ways to protect the list include:
- Disabling the ability to accidentally delete the list
- Disabling the ability to accidentally edit or delete the current message that is saved to the list
- Disabling the ability to edit contact information in the list
- Disabling the ability to make changes to the contacts who are selected/enabled in the list
- Stopping the nightly sync from overwriting the list
