How to Protect a Contact Selection from Being Changed Accidentally

If you have created a list for a specific purpose, you may want to lock the contact selection so that no one accidentally selects or deselects contacts in it. This article describes how to add a protection to lock the contact selection. With the protection added, any user with access to the list will have to turn the protection off before enabling or disabling contacts in the list. 

Your message will only be sent to the contacts who are enabled / selected in the list.

1. In BrightView, navigate to the My Lists page 
2. Access the List Settings by either hovering over the name of the list and clicking the gear icon or by clicking on the name of the list then clicking the List Settings button
3. Turn ON the toggle to "Lock Contact Selection"

4. With the Lock Contact Selection toggle turned ON, anyone who tries to change the contact selection from the List Details page will receive an error

5. Users will now need to go into the list settings to turn the toggle OFF in order to change the contact selection
6. Remember to turn the toggle back ON after making your changes to avoid the potential for mistakes in the future
